The end of this past weekend represented not just your typical Sunday, but it also marked the closing of the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida. It also marks the last weekend of Miami music week during which there was a number of concerts and performances all over Miami. Ultra Music Festival is not just your typical American music festival rought with typical american bands playing to typical american fans. It is the embodiment of an international music scene that represents the purest form of globalization in my opinion. No false advertisement, no in your face go to this, granted expensive tickets, but it is really just a conglomeration of all nationalities visiting Miami for a single purpose: to enjoy the fruits of international DJ efforts. Even our own Michael Brun performed this past week in Miami. With the spread of popularity of Electronic Dance Music(EDM) the number of individuals interested in experiencing Ultra vastly increased. The number of international DJs wanting in on the action has increased so much that the music festival had to add an extra day. EDM is spreading all over the world and as it reaches individual countries the local music producers are able to add their special spin on it and create a whole new genre. What I really want to know is what will happen next.
