Overpopulation is a serious problem in the world today. Everyone hears about carbon footprints and living beyond our means and using up the natural resources, etc. Yet what is actually being done to address these problems? There are major changes that need to take place around the world to fix this problem and they need to happen sooner rather than later. The current culture of (over)consumption in the developed world has to change to a more sustainable level. This change is going to take some time and it is definitely not going to be a popular one (especially in this country). It is in all of our best interests to start making these changes or the decisions and cuts we will have to make down the road will have much more serious repercussions. The question is whether or not we care about the long-term health of our planet and future generations.
